We are building an environment that enables all talents, regardless of gender, to sustainably thrive and empower internally and externally.

Hiring

We have established a system that has been thoroughly examined from diverse aspects to eliminate the influence of bias in hiring processes. In addition, diverse members of Deloitte Tohmatsu Group, including various female members who will serve as role models after joining the company, are actively engaged in these processes.
 

Promotion/Nomination

In addition to individually tailored talent development plans, various promotion initiatives for female leaders are implemented such as sponsorship, coaching, and mentoring. In addition, a wide variety of stakeholders, including DEI Leaders, participate in the evaluation meetings to eliminate the influence of bias on evaluation processes.
 

Experience

By forming a diverse client teams and project teams, we are not only improving the services of Deloitte Tohmatsu Group, but also building an environment and structure that enable women and other diverse members to gain various experience to thrive and empower, while demonstrating their strengths.

Through our Panel Promise, which sets “40% (Men): 40% (Women): 20% (Buffer to facilitate diversity)”, keeping the balanced representation of panelists over various events, forums, conferences, etc., we empower women leaders in the business and the society and further increase their presence.

Life Support

We have various schemes to support each life stages of our members - such as pregnancy, childcare, reproductive health, menopause, etc. (Details can be found here)

We conduct various company-wide surveys on a regular basis to further enhance members’ experiences.
 

Leadership

In addition to various mandatory trainings and workshops for an inclusive environment such as around unconscious biases, we also conduct a number of internal events and communication-related initiatives to promote dialogue and discussions with top management, including the CEO, and members across all the teams to achieve inclusive leadership.

The working group for empowering gender equality led by male leaders and Partners, have been working with DEI team to implement various gender equality initiatives, including internal and external advocacy.
 

Communication, Eminence and Social Impact

We are implementing initiatives to create collective and social impact around gender equality challenges.

< Women in Tech・Women in SAP >

Women in Tech initiatives are to promote further female representation and empowerment in tech field, as well as promoting the power of digital technology to change lifestyles and business. We support women in all stages, from students to experienced professionals, to broaden their fields and perspectives with Tech. There are also particular working groups such as Women in SAP which is dedicated to increasing female professionals involved in SAP.

< 30% Club >

Since the establishment of 30% Club, a global campaign to increase further female representation in corporate boardrooms founded in the U.K. in 2010, we have consistently supported its establishment and related activities. Furthermore, with the aim of contributing to Japan’s improvement of international competitiveness and the building of sustainable society, we have consistently led and supported 30% Club Japan.

SheXO Club was established in January 2020 as a comprehensive initiative to support female executives and the next generation of female leaders with various initiatives including building strong networks through seminars and business meetings, as well as offering support to solve challenges related to female leadership

< Association of Male Leaders >

Based on the fact that it is crucial to transform people’s mindset, including those at the decision-making level led by male leaders to further empower gender equality, the current Group CEO, Kenichi Kimura, as well as the past CEOs of Deloitte Tohmatsu Group, has been the member of Male Leaders Coalition for Empowerment of Women, which is managed by Gender Equality Bureau of the Cabinet Office, and is actively working to tackle gender equality issues throughout Japanese society.

Various data and insights in and out of Deloitte Tohmatsu Group are reflected in policies and thought leaderships.
 

< Women @ Work : A Global Outlook >

Since 2021, we have been conducting research to capture the environment for women in workplaces, their satisfaction levels, and support measures for women in organizations, as well as showing the organizational challenges around the world. Among the survey subjects, the trends shown by the responses of women working in Japan and the comparison with the global average are summarized in the Japanese version and published as follows.
