The world is facing enormous environmental challenges. To address them, we will likely need to revisit our approaches of producing, distributing and using energy. However, this transformation will likely demand a shift in mindset, a comprehensive restructuring of markets and sustained collaboration.
Although, many companies have already started working towards achieving net-zero—sustaining this momentum requires continued support and co-ordination from all sectors, including private entities, public institutions and governmental bodies. This analysis examines how Europe is progressing toward carbon neutrality and outlines three focus areas that could support a successful European energy transition: how investment in clean energy can be key to reach net-zero by 2050.
