One of the ways we make an impact here is by freeing our people to take time out of their day jobs. Joy Henderson took advantage of this, by taking a month off to volunteer in Sierra Leone, using the skills and knowledge she’s gained in her auditing career to help women’s legal aid charity, Advocaid. Our firm’s agile working programme meant she could step out of her Deloitte role and focus completely on supporting the finance department of the charity, providing advice and staff training, as well as practical help with their accounts. Advocaid has since asked Joy to sit on their Board.
