Ryosuke Kono has handled a broad range of cases in a variety of areas, including tax, international transactions, restructuring/insolvency, as well as M&A/reorganization transactions and general corporate matters. Drawing on his work experience as an officer at the Regional Tax Bureau, he has been engaged in a wide range of tax cases, including international tax advisory, with a particularly focus on cases where legal and tax aspects intersect. He also has extensive experience with respect to tax disputes, such as obtaining judgements in favor of taxpayers in some tax litigations, including a large-scale case related to application of CFC rules. He received “Lawyer of the Year” awards multiple times from Best Lawyers in Japanese Tax Law.
