  • Figure a: Figures are aggregated across the Deloitte network. Where possible, Deloitte entities procure and claim renewable electricity in accordance with the Climate Group’s RE100 Technical Criteria and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) topic standard GRI 302: Energy 2016. In certain markets where procuring renewable electricity is challenging or is not possible, Deloitte entities may procure renewable electricity from a neighboring country. This enables Deloitte to demonstrate commitment to our renewable electricity target and signal market demand. As the renewable electricity procured may not fall within the same RE100-recognized market boundary, there may be variances between renewable electricity amounts reported in the Global Impact Report and within RE100 reports. Deloitte anticipates increasing the alignment with RE100 Technical Criteria over time as market availability of renewable energy increases.
  • Figure b: Figures are aggregated across the Deloitte network. Deloitte's vehicle fleet tracking includes plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and extended range electric vehicles (EREVs) within the electric vehicle (EV) category.
  • Figure c: Emissions figures are presented in metric tonnes CO2e. Figures are aggregated across the Deloitte network. Due to rounding, sum of sections may not equal total. Commuting and teleworking is reported from FY2024.

The Deloitte Climate Risk Report identifies the priority risks and opportunities at the network-wide level that will help guide Deloitte entities’ work. We are also facilitating changes beyond our network by providing sustainability services to Deloitte clients and collaborating with suppliers and other organizations to help develop solutions to sustainability challenges.

Deloitte has committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across our value chain by FY2040, as measured at the aggregate, network-wide level. The Deloitte network has set a network-wide goal to reduce absolute scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions by 90% by 2040 from 2019 levels, with the final 10% of emissions neutralized through investment in the permanent removal of carbon. Our net-zero journey is central to Deloitte’s long-term resilience and value creation. Our NZTP focuses efforts where we are most capable of making contributions, including transforming the environmental impact of our travel, technology, and buildings; embedding net-zero into supplier relationships; and collaborating across our ecosystem to scale systemic solutions.

Across our global network, Deloitte firms are implementing actions set out in the NZTP. Recognizing business travel is a significant emissions source, Deloitte NSE2 developed the Travel Emissions Calculator to provide greater understanding of the environmental impacts of necessary travel—and how thoughtful choices can help reduce them. Across Deloitte’s global network, we have reduced scope 3 emissions from business travel per full-time equivalent (FTE) by 61% in FY2026 from FY2019 levels.

While technology is foundational to our work with Deloitte clients, it also accounts for nearly a third of Deloitte’s network-wide GHGs. This includes the use of cloud and data centers, laptops and mobile devices, and AI. To help address this, Deloitte is embedding sustainable practices for the technology we develop with our alliances, reducing emissions across the life cycle of technologies used by Deloitte people—from energy-efficient hardware procurement to running software on lower-carbon cloud and data center operations—and helping mitigate the energy demands of GenAI. For example, Deloitte South Asia developed Enterprise Conscious Code, an AI-powered suite that helps optimize enterprise code and compress media files to reduce energy use and emissions. The solution is now being piloted across Deloitte South Asia.

Over the past decade, Deloitte has worked to reduce the environmental impact of our facilities, integrating sustainability considerations across the real estate cycle. For example, the Deloitte University EMEA campus was constructed using renewable and lowcarbon materials.

In addition, in FY2026, 97% of the electricity Deloitte purchased network-wide was renewable—and Deloitte continues to explore ways to bring new renewable energy capacity to the grid in pursuit of our 100% renewable electricity goal. For example, Deloitte US secured a long-term contract to buy renewable electricity (or its certificates) that is expected to supply most of its renewable energy needs and reduce electricity-related emissions.

Deloitte is also working with suppliers to set net-zero targets for themselves that are aligned with Deloitte’s own goals, collaborate on emissions reduction, and advance product-level emissions reporting.

As we continue to increase our understanding of Deloitte’s network-wide scope 3 inventory each year, we are working closely with suppliers to improve our actionable baseline and develop potential actions to continue to reduce emissions within our value chain. Many sources of Deloitte’s supply chain emissions have high measurement uncertainty, contributing to fluctuations in reported emissions over time. As we pursue Deloitte’s network-wide emission reduction targets, we remain focused on increasing the precision with which we measure our emissions, including improving the accuracy of our emissions baseline and current year data toward the goal of improved emissions comparability over time. These efforts are supported by working with Deloitte suppliers to obtain more precise product-level data, as well as evolving our measurement methodologies to align with leading practices.

We continue to help create solutions that can facilitate the transition to a lower-carbon economy. Given our network’s use of air travel in serving Deloitte clients, Deloitte prioritizes collaborations to help expand the market infrastructure to reduce emissions from travel and support low-emission transportation solutions.

Deloitte’s agreements with World Energy LLC helped enable Deloitte Global and five Deloitte firms to purchase emissions reductions from Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), as part of a multi-year commitment. Deloitte firms continue to make progress in scaling investment in SAF, including Deloitte US through its support of the Minnesota SAF Hub, which is now blending and uplifting SAF in-state.

In addition, Deloitte firms work with their ecosystems to produce actionable insights like Connecting Nature, Climate, and Capital, a collaborative report by Deloitte New Zealand, Bank of New Zealand, and The Nature Conservancy. The report explores how New Zealand can develop high-integrity, nature-based carbon and biodiversity credits and access both domestic and international markets— and highlights the opportunity to unlock private investment into nature restoration and conservation, helping deliver benefits for sustainability, biodiversity, and communities.

Along with reducing Deloitte’s emissions, Deloitte entities are investing in solutions that can deliver carbon emission reductions—and help scale early-stage technology and nature-based solutions.

We provide pro bono support and finance (through a combination of direct funding and carbon credits) to a diverse range of external sustainability initiatives that we consider high-impact projects. Depending on Deloitte Global’s or each Deloitte firm’s specific context and objectives, the investments are funded through Deloitte’s voluntary internal carbon price and/or other financing mechanisms. For example, Deloitte DCE3 contributed to the restoration of ecosystems along the Portuguese coast through its support of SeaForester, which uses innovative techniques to regenerate seaweed forests, a very effective natural CO2 absorber.

Helping an electric utility develop a more resilient future

When Hurricane Milton swept through Florida in October 2024, it left 75% of the Tampa Electric Company (TECO) service area impacted by outages. With storms now an ongoing concern, TECO is committed to investing in infrastructure enhancements, network improvements, and operations technology advancements to increase resilience and better serve customers when storms strike.

To bring that vision to life, Deloitte US helped guide TECO through this transformation by establishing a single, integrated team to oversee change management, systems integration, process design, and program delivery across TECO’s ambitious grid modernization journey. TECO’s Advanced Delivery Infrastructure (ADI) program brought together 44 projects under a single, coordinated effort to build a more sophisticated, efficient, and asset-focused operational system and bring resiliency and reliability to a new level for its customers.

Deloitte US assisted TECO in focusing on a fully integrated approach that optimizes solution deployment, reduces risk, delivers the business capabilities and processes required, and aligns stakeholders from across the organization. The team combines industry and core application experience, advanced operational practices, and additional collaborators to provide niche skills and talent. By organizing projects into a series of capability-focused releases, the team is reducing risk within the overall impact to the organization and building on a strong foundation with each new release.

The result is a more technology-enabled and connected grid. ADI integrates information technology systems, operational control systems, telecommunications networks, and field devices into a unified framework. Equipping the grid with remote monitoring capabilities and innovative solutions, TECO now has greater visibility into grid performance and can respond more effectively when outages occur. For customers and communities, as well as TECO team members, enabling the operational crews to restore power faster is not just a metric, it is impacting lives.
