Inclusive growth

‘Levelling up’, ‘Building back better’, ‘Inclusive growth’. For all nations and regions our goal is the same: supporting the UK to realise its full potential.

Zoe Davidson

Partner, Levelling Up, Government & Public Services

"Levelling up is more about people than place. That’s why we’re working to help untap the potential we have in regions and nations around the UK to create a more equal society.

We’re helping find solutions that pave the way for inclusive growth. Our connected expertise combined with shared local insights will make a significant impact on local jobs, the skills landscape, and the well-being of local communities.

We believe that all regions and nations have the potential to effect change. But there is no one-size-fits-all solution as different regions and nations have different priority needs, so we are working with clients to design and implement what levelling up means for them to deliver positive outcomes for the communities that need it."

Dan Barlow, Managing Partner Regional Markets

"One of the things that drives me and our teams in the regions to be successful is the contribution we make to regional growth, as well as making an impact that matters in the communities in which we operate."

Around a third of our UK business is outside of London and is delivered by about six and a half thousand people, based out of twenty locations across the UK.

Cardiff and Belfast are our second and third largest UK offices, and we've got substantial presence in towns and cities across the UK - from Aberdeen to Southampton and many places in between.

The UK's nations and regions represent a big part in the success of our business and have contributed to revenue and profit growth this year.

One of the things that drives me and our teams in the regions to be successful is the contribution we make to regional growth, as well as making an impact that matters in the communities in which we operate.

Firstly, what's happening in regional economies like Teesside is fantastic. We held a conference on economic growth in Middlesbrough last November - we're making our first steps to recruit in the area and we're advising the region on its Brands skills and transport infrastructure. We're proud to play a part in a vision and ambition that will change the Region's future.

Firms like ours have a big role to play in helping develop skills that regional economies need to thrive, so it's definitely a highlight that we annually recruit over a thousand School leavers and graduates outside of London - many in tech and creative roles. Our in-house creative agency is based in Leeds, we have a cloud engineering business in Belfast, and we have a big digital based Consulting operation in Manchester.

The people we employ, train and help nurture in these industries will make contributions to their regional economies throughout their careers at Deloitte and beyond.

We look forward to playing an important part in this growth and levelling up of the UK regions and nations.
