FAQs

Student and new grad opportunities are typically posted on Deloitte.ca/careers in the fall (mid-August to mid-September), the winter (mid-December to mid-January), and the spring (mid-March to mid-April). Only candidates who submit their application through the career’s website will be considered. Submit your cover letter, resume and unofficial transcript in ONE PDF combined file.

To be eligible for co-op/intern opportunities, you must be a current student returning to school for at least one semester post-work term.

For new grad roles, you should be graduating within one year of your start date.

If you are unsuccessful, you are welcome to reapply in the next hiring cycle.

As a student, you are advised to submit an application to the location and service where you most see yourself beginning your career. We are looking for top talent and we want to support you in the role that is the best fit for you.

You can apply to multiple roles, but you only have one application package associated with your candidate profile. This means, if you apply to multiple roles, you can only upload one file.

It’s important to us that our workforce reflects the world we live in, which means we want to remove potential barriers for people applying to join us.

If you have a disability, health condition, and/or are neurodivergent or there are other reasons why you’d benefit from an adjustment, please just ask, and also look out for the relevant question as part of your application.

We will work with you to learn more about your support needs and identify reasonable adjustments that will help you to perform at your best. You don’t need to provide evidence, we trust you.

If you would like to discuss any adjustments, please contact us, and a member of our team will be in touch with you within 48 working hours.

All applications must be made online. If your initial application is successful, you’ll then begin our assessment process.

If selected for a first-round interview, you will receive an invitation to submit your digital, on-demand video interview via HireVue.

If you advance through the process, second-round interviews may take place virtually, on-campus or in a Deloitte office. The interview format will vary depending on the position for which you are being considered. This may include a combination of behavioural and/or case interviews. Some roles may also require you to complete an online assessment.

Yes, the closing date for a role can be found on the application posting.

Deloitte Canada does not provide visa support for student and new grad roles; students must be eligible to work in Canada to apply.

It depends on the role you apply for; we have opportunities available across Canada. Deloitte is committed to employees having a flexible workspace and schedules that allow them to balance work and personal life.

Your grades aren’t the be-all and end-all. We’re just as interested in what makes you tick and how you solve a problem. That said, we do expect a certain level of education and ability, so you’ll need to check the minimum academic requirements in the job posting of the role you are applying for.

If you’ve already graduated from university, you won’t be eligible for our internship or co-op placements, but you will be able to apply to a new grad position as long as you have graduated within one year of your start date.

I don’t have any previous work experience, any recommendations on how to put together my application?

Previous work experience is not a requirement for student roles, focus your application on any volunteer experience you have, your extracurricular activities (case competitions, student associations or clubs, sports, etc.), any leadership roles you’ve had on campus or in your community, and your academic achievements.

We host and sponsor a variety of student focused events throughout the school year. Our recruiters visit university across Canada for on-campus events and Deloitte hosts both virtual and in-office events where you can learn more about Deloitte, our opportunities, and our assessment process.

We advertise upcoming events with the schools/universities career centers and on our LinkedIn.

We look forward to meeting you!

You can update your application any time while the posting is still open but logging back into your application profile on the careers page. Once the application deadline has passed, changes to applications will not be possible.

Can I apply for a student position even if I am located outside of the job postings’ province?

Yes, however Deloitte Canada does not sponsor visas, or pay relocation fees for student jobs. If you are interested in working at Deloitte, you are responsible for making sure you have the necessary documents to work in Canada prior to your first day of work with us.
