Any UK business who has business visitors from outside the UK will need to ensure they are compliant from an income tax and social security perspective. This will be a ‘back to basics’ session covering the rules and practical steps employers can take to ensure they have robust monitoring and reporting processes that meet HMRC expectations.

The 7 June 2026 deadline for the EU Pay Transparency Directive (EUPTD) is fast approaching. This session will focus on the extent to which these new rules impact internationally mobile employees and how to best manage the EUPTD requirements within a diverse workforce.

There has been recent HMRC activity in the following areas:

• Social security – HMRC are suggesting NIC on cash compensation should be apportioned based on where the individual was insured during the earnings period; and
• Pensions – HMRC are challenging the exemption from UK tax of employer contributions to foreign pension schemes

This session will provide a snapshot of the current state for Mobility programmes (using data from our 2025 Business Travel and Remote Work Survey) but also provide our insight into how mobility tax may look in the future.
