We will provide a round-up of the key themes from the 2023 AGM season and other upcoming areas of focus in the executive remuneration environment.

Webinar – The Role of the ESG Committee

The prevalence of ESG-related Board Committees (including Corporate Responsibility; Sustainability; Safety & Ethics and other related committees) has grown significantly in the last two years, and over 50% of FTSE 350 companies now have an ESG-related committee. In this webinar we will share insights on typical composition, responsibilities, remit and wider aspects such as stakeholder engagement and investor/proxy views on ESG board governance.

We will be joined by Jo Harlow (Chair of the Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Committee at J Sainsbury plc and non-executive director at Halma plc and IHG plc) and Tony Dunnage (Head of ESG at Imperial Brands plc) to give their insights and perspectives on the role of the ESG committee.

Annual Remuneration Strategy Conference 2022 (hybrid event)

Pay in a volatile environment

On Tuesday 11 October 2022 (13.30 – 17.00 BST) we held our Annual Remuneration Strategy Conference at our Auditorium in 2 New Street Square, London. This year, the conference focussed on considerations for remuneration committees and HR teams in setting pay arrangements and determining incentive outcomes in the current economic and geopolitical environment.

We were joined by a host of outstanding speakers, including Ian Tyler (Senior Independent Director and Remuneration Committee Chair, Anglo American plc), Annemarie Durbin (Remuneration Committee Chair, Persimmon plc and Santander UK plc), Alex Edmans (Professor of Finance, London Business School), Vineet Chhibber (Director, Blackrock) and Ian Stewart (Chief Economist, Deloitte).
