"I’m a people person, so I enjoy developing relationships and building trust with my clients. Every new venture has a tax element, and I love being able to demystify that for people to help them achieve their goals."

When did you join Deloitte and what does your role involve?
After working for other accounting firms, I joined Deloitte as an Associate Director in Private Client practice in 2019, in the Reading office. I’m Associate Director in Private Client practice in Business Tax, mainly supporting entrepreneurs and high network individuals. I advise them all aspects of their affairs, which includes anything from selling shares in a business to helping them structure a new business. My job is mainly around education and ensuring that people fully understand and are compliant with tax laws. I really enjoy working with individual and families because I get to build relationships and be their trusted advisor. I especially like talking to people about what they do and the exciting businesses or charity initiatives they’re creating.
What do you enjoy about the Reading office?
I was living near Basingstoke when I joined, with two children. I really liked the office as it’s very central and there’s always a nice buzz and a sense of community, plus you can easily go to London for meetings too. Since the pandemic we’ve moved to the New Forest to be close to family, but flexible working means I enjoy a mix of office days in Reading, alongside home working.
What does your role involve?
I’m a change management consultant for the Digital Innovation team in Tax and Legal. My role is to drive the adoption of new technologies. I help to prepare people for the change, raise awareness of what’s coming, identify knowledge gaps and consider where extra training is needed. I then manage the change process of the tech roll-out, supporting our people along the way. I enjoy the problem-solving aspects of the role, as well as being able to help people to improve their ways of working. I’ve learnt a lot in a short space of time, and I like the fact that I’m challenged.
What do you to maintain your work/life balance?
I normally go to the gym at least once over the weekend, and I really enjoy weight training. I did a bodybuilding competition in the past, but at the moment I’m training for fun. I’m also passionate about travel, and jump at any excuse to go. This year I’ve been to Egypt, Lisbon, Paris and Malaga and next year I’m going on a family holiday to Thailand. At Deloitte you have the option to purchase extra holiday, which I always take advantage of.
What do you do?
I’m a Director in GES, specialising in Global Workforce Consulting. We partner with clients to solve their global talent challenges, helping them identify and tap into talent, both physically and virtually, across borders to deliver their business goals while ensuring that they comply with tax, immigration, social security, payroll, reward, and employment law regulations. I love the work because I enjoy solving problems and it gives me the opportunity to use my lived experience. I’ve moved across so many countries, so I understand the support that’s needed.
What do you do in your spare time?
I love cooking, especially going back to my roots and rediscovering my granny’s recipes. Travelling and photography are a big part of my life too, and I try to go somewhere new every month. I recently visited Riga in Latvia for the weekend, which was a really different experience. I’m also helping my mum to translate a book she’s written in Kannada. It’s all about her life and her career as a doctor, and it’s won awards in India, so I’m looking forward to sharing it with an English audience.

In the context of every greater market complexity, increasing regulation and digital transformation, there are growing expectations on corporate legal teams to add more value to their businesses.
While our clients respect law firms for their advice, it is typically discrete, rarely multidisciplinary and doesn’t help them solve their business challenges sustainably.
Deloitte Legal is a new kind of legal business designed to meet this growing need. We blend great advisory capabilities with the technology, process and change management skills to move from advice to implementation and managing legal operations. We are delivering to legal buyers the Deloitte promise of practical solutions to real business problems.
Our business is grouped into four main offerings:
Corporate Services
We help clients deal efficiently with the legal aspects of corporate growth and governance by industrialising activities such as M&A and Legal Entity Management.
Contracts
We offer the clients we work with a comprehensive solution for high volume contracting. By adding process, playbooks and scaling delivery, we’re able to elevate the legal expertise we offer, reducing cost and risk and increasing spend.
Legal Management Consulting
Using technology and process improvement, our legal management consulting teams support clients’ legal functions. Through our expertise, we’re able to transform these functions, increasing value and boosting their efficiency and effectiveness.
Assets
We revolutionise the way clients drive value from their assets, while ensuring regulatory compliance. Our Assets teams focus on four different areas:
Regulatory
We guide clients through complex, dynamic and interconnected regulatory landscapes relating to financial services, internet regulation, and data privacy.
Real Estate
We offer solutions-focused legal expertise across key areas of real estate, including living, regeneration, occupiers, development and investment.
Intellectual Property
We support our clients to identity, develop and maximise their use of data, technology, AI and other assets relating to intellectual property.
People
We help clients to attract, motivate and retain the best talent during a time of growing social expectation, legal protection and requirements.
