As well as advising some of the largest and most influential businesses in the world on their real estate and development portfolios, you’ll support on significant new towns, communities, development opportunities and infrastructure projects.

Career options

We are involved in a broad range of complex projects, both in the UK and internationally. Join our graduate programme and you’ll have access to a range of learning resources, including the structured RICS or RTPI APC pathway and appropriate training programmes.

Surveying: We advise major landowners, public sector bodies, private sector organisations and developers on residential, mixed use and commercial developments over the full development lifecycle.

Town Planning: We work at a strategic level with our clients to deliver integrated town planning solutions which consider all aspects of the development lifecycle to help deliver major housing, regeneration schemes and infrastructure projects.

We are the go-to strategic advisor to a global network of the largest and most influential organisations, using the latest technology and insights to help them deliver both their real estate footprint strategy and capital projects in a more operationally efficient and sustainable manner. Our clients span industries and sectors, but include the world’s biggest banks and financial services institutions, multi-national consumer goods, pharmaceuticals and telecoms, and UK Government.

Our diverse Real Estate Consulting team comprises property, finance and construction professionals with a variety of specialisms and expertise. Join us and you will work on the highest profile projects of major clients facing complex real estate related business challenges. On this programme, you’ll work on large-scale projects in teams across Deloitte with the opportunity to study towards a related industry qualification.

We provide specialist finance advice and support for the public and private sector. In this team you’ll be working on projects that have a real impact on the economy, such as the procurement and negotiation of contracts between the public and private sector.

The City of London Corporation Markets Co-Location Programme

Deloitte has been supporting The City of London Corporation since 2019 on its Markets Co-Location Programme, which aims to move three central London food markets into one single, high-tech facility in Dagenham, East London. We have supported with the design development, as well as submitting planning applications. The existing markets and their locations are so historic that they are set in law, meaning we have also supported the legal changes needed to move and redevelop them. As part of the project we have worked closely with local councils, businesses, and residents. Meanwhile we have secured outline planning permission, which is a wider consent that allows for more detailed designs to be submitted in future, and we will advise The City of London Corporation on redevelopment plans for the existing sites.

Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation

The transformation of Old Oak and Park Royal is the UK’s biggest regeneration project, spanning 650 hectares in West London. The development area includes Old Oak Common Station, which is still under construction, and is set to become the interchange between HS2 and the Elizabeth Line – two of the nation’s most significant recent transport developments. The organisation in charge of this new development is Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation. We are acting as their Strategic Development Advisor, providing advice on how best to regenerate the area to maximise benefits for the public and the corporation. To date, we have provided a full range of planning and development services.

Deloitte works with a global bank who use specialist suppliers to provide real estate services to their branches and offices across 40 different countries. This includes facilities management, such as maintaining the buildings and their equipment, cleaning and more, as well as provision of environment and sustainability services, health and safety and construction services. We have worked closely with the bank to support them in outsourcing these services, which includes helping them to evaluate and choose the companies they’re using, as well as negotiating the price. We also helped to develop a new target operating model for the bank, which ensures they are set up internally and externally to deliver the services required to maintain and improve their property. This allows the bank to continue to offer quality services to customers across the world. We were able to bring extensive industry experience, which led to the bank successfully appointing the best real estate suppliers for their needs.

What’s surprised you most about your role?

I’m surprised I use creative thinking so much in my job. I’ve learnt to use Adobe InDesign to support with creative work, designing documents, which I never would have expected.

I also need creative thinking for problem solving, as well as financial modelling. Quite often, as the client updates information, we need to identify the most efficient way to process the data. This is when I’ve had the opportunity to think outside the box and develop solutions for the tasks at hand.

What are the best things about your job?

For me, my favourite part of working in Real Assets is that it results in something tangible. You can witness a scheme come to life, and have a material impact on people’s lives or way of living.

Working in Real Assets Advisory specifically, I enjoy the wide-ranging nature of the work we do, as well as the opportunity to engage with clients on a strategy level. You’re given responsibility very early on, and have the opportunity to learn and grow at an exponential rate.
