Celebrating diversity, fostering belonging

From parades to personal reflections, discover how our people embraced Pride

At Deloitte NSE, we know that when you feel valued, respected and empowered to be your authentic self, you are more engaged, innovative and impactful. However, the reality is that as a society, there’s still much work to be done to create safe spaces for everyone. Pride is a globally important celebration and statement to further this vital progress.

This summer, we worked closely with local organisations and our employee networks across NSE to support and participate in over 30 Pride parades and initiatives.

With events hosted both on water and on land, we brought together our people, members of the community and non-profits alike. Join us on a quick tour as we cover how our colleagues celebrated Pride in 2025.

Setting the scene and making waves

In June, Deloitte Ireland’s Pride Network boldly took over the firm’s annual Summer Social event the evening before the Dublin Pride parade. Over 1,800 colleagues joined the celebrations, featuring DJs and drag queens, a history of Pride table quiz, face painting and more. And people really enjoyed the variety!

“I wasn’t sure what to expect at this year’s Summer Social! But the atmosphere was vibrant, welcoming, and full of positive energy. It truly opened my eyes to the beauty of celebrating diversity. I have to say, it was an unexpectedly brilliant experience – I’m already intrigued for next time!” said Aoife Woods, Senior Consultant, Technology & Transformation, Deloitte Ireland.

Elsewhere across NSE, colleagues from Norway, Belgium, Ireland and the UK travelled to Amsterdam to join their Deloitte Netherlands colleagues for the festivities. The Canal Parade buzzed with a buoyant festive spirit. Over 80 colourful boats filled the waterways and celebrations echoed throughout the city. Through a special relationship with the non-profit, Vluchtelingenwerk, Deloitte Netherlands invites people with a refugee background to join the Pride celebrations each year.

From marching in Pride parades across the nation to deep dives on allyship, our Deloitte Italy colleagues went all out. A highlight was their dedicated hybrid event on authenticity and allyship, opened by Chrystelle Simon, Deloitte Central Mediterranean Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Leader and closed by Paolo Galletti, Deloitte Central Mediterranean People & Purpose Leader, which featured a roundtable bringing together voices from activism, business and the LGBT+ community. Over 130 colleagues were in attendance as Valeria Cavallo, Business Communication Manager, Deloitte Legal, took the stage, welcoming guest speakers Anna Maria Fisichella, Vice President of Agedo Nazionale (an association of parents, families and friends of LGBT+ people, committed to supporting families through coming-out journeys while advocating for civil rights and social change in Italy) and Francesca Cavallo, writer, publisher and LGBT+ activist. The event offered a valuable opportunity to reflect collectively on what being an ally means in both personal and professional environments.

Leadership stepping up and speaking out

Colleagues from Deloitte Belgium attended Antwerp Pride, a fantastic weekend full of love and support.

“Integrity, care for one another, and inclusion are at the heart of who we are. When everyone feels respected and valued, diverse perspectives thrive - fueling stronger collaboration, better ideas, and greater impact. This is not just what we believe in; it’s how we succeed together.”
Rolf Driesen, CEO, Deloitte Belgium

The PROUD team in Norway organised a wonderful pride breakfast at their Oslo office. Deloitte Norway CEO, Cecilia Flatum, attended and delivered an inspiring speech to our people before the parade began, stating; “I encourage each of you to speak up and be an ally for every voice that needs to be heard. And to remember to audit our own attitudes as well.”

To close, Will Smith, NSE Managing Partner, People & Purpose, reflects on our year-round approach to diversity and inclusion. "What inspires me most is witnessing our communities come alive, working together, collaborating, and reaching across borders to celebrate the meaning and importance of Pride. We are committed to identifying and removing barriers to inclusion at our firm. We want everyone at Deloitte NSE to feel they can be themselves at work every day, without fear of discrimination or prejudice.”
