Pay gap
Not to be confused with the issue of equal pay, the gender pay gap shows the difference in the average hourly rate of pay between male and female employees. It is expressed as a percentage of average male earnings. We also include two important voluntary calculations: an equity partner earnings gap, and a total earnings gap which reflects the earnings of both employees and equity partners.

Recruitment
Community
In 2016 we set out to make an impact that matters to one million people, through supporting access to education and employment opportunities. We’ve worked alongside our network of charities, schools and social enterprises and in 2020, we reached our milestone. That’s one million people getting to where they want to be. One million futures made brighter. And one million stories to be told.
Our people are making an impact that matters by using their skills and expertise through volunteering, amplifying the impact of our charities, schools and social enterprises partners. This is our Purpose in action.

In recognition that our gender pay gap is driven by us having lower female representation at senior grades, we are working hard to address this imbalance with a focus on recruitment and promotion. For full reporting and information around our gender and ethnicity pay gap, please see our metrics.
Detailed information on our actions and progress across all areas of inclusion will be shared as part of our inclusion report due to be published in early 2021.

Our community contribution is the financial value of all of our societal impact including donations, pro bono and volunteering hours; all of which support our ambition to help people overcome barriers to education and employment.
Offering professional expertise - pro bono - to charities and social enterprises is a core feature of our programme. Our professionals serve our society partners like we do our clients, delivering projects to address their business challenges.
Environmental
This year we launched WorldClimate, our global climate and sustainability strategy, in which we have committed to becoming net zero by 2030. We will make a positive difference within our firm by setting and achieving significant carbon reduction goals; and by being a catalyst for change with our clients, alliance partners and suppliers as we all respond to the climate emergency.
