A good CV is short and concise – and gives the employer a quick overview of you. Start with your most relevant skills, experience, and education, and remember to include dates for graduation and previous employment. Keep it to 1 page – 2 at most – and finish by checking for spelling mistakes, so you leave a professional impression.

We do not use cover letters for graduate positions in Audit & Assurance. Instead, we ask you to answer a series of screening questions about your motivation for applying for the position. When answering the screening questions, it is worth keeping in mind: Be specific and personal – use examples from your studies or experience rather than general phrases. Show that you have done your research – the more specific you are about the role and the company, the clearer your motivation will come across. Be authentic – we are not looking for the right answer but want to get to know you.

Read through the job posting carefully so that you understand what we are looking for and consider which skills and experiences you particularly want to highlight. Prepare specific examples from your studies, previous jobs, hobbies, or voluntary work that show who you are and what you can contribute. We will typically ask about:

• Your motivation for applying for the position – and why you want to become part of Deloitte
• What particularly sparks your interest in auditing
• Which skills you can contribute with as an auditor at Deloitte
