Varun Budhiraja

Varun is a Deloitte Consulting LLP principal in the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) practice and is a leader within the pre-deal advisory practice. His focus areas include M&A strategy, due diligence, and acquisition/carve-out planning and execution. Varun has led multiple case teams on deals for several Fortune 500 companies and spent a majority of his time focused on conducting commercial or operational diligence to help strategic buyers make inorganic growth decisions. In addition, his experiences include commercial integration and optimization, clean-room analytics, synergy and stand-up costs analysis, integration strategy and operating model design, corporate development best practices, target evaluation, carve-out strategy, and sign-to-close planning and execution. Varun is recognized as one of the firm’s leading experts in M&A and pre-deal work and has created and taught multiple courses on topics related to due diligence, planning, and execution.
