What cloud makes possible, Deloitte makes actual

A blog post by Ranjit Bawa, principal and US Cloud Leader

I am proud that Deloitte was recognized in the Leaders quadrant in the 2021 Gartner® Magic Quadrantfor Public Cloud IT Transformation Services, placed highest on Ability to Execute and Furthest on Completeness of Vision.

This recognition we believe is a testament of our team’s focus and the long-term investments that we’ve made in cloud—and the work we’ve done in scaling our modern engineering capabilities. We’ve always seen cloud as a catalyst for change and transformation, and we believe that this decade will see unprecedented changes fueled by cloud and technology innovation.

Cloud is really a metaphor for how technology is being built and delivered, but it represents so much more, i.e. product-aligned teams, agile MVP sprints, SRE/DevOps mindset, continuous innovation, and alignment with software engineering disciplines — all of which have radically changed the role of technology. We have come a long way from when cloud meant moving to another data center.

As businesses modernize, we find ourselves spending most of our time working with them to build a modern technology platform and an operating model that allows them to continuously evolve their businesses, building new products and solutions. We’ve also found that leading with an engineering mindset really helps, as well as recognizing the evolving technology landscape and allowing ourselves the architectural freedom to change and evolve. It’s a fascinating time to be working on cloud and software engineering, and we are only getting warmed up!
