Mary Rauschenberg

Mary advises on matters unique to tax-exempt organizations, such as educational institutions, healthcare organizations, private foundations, and other tax-exempt organizations—including qualification for tax-exempt status, applying for exemption with the IRS, maintaining tax-exempt status, and termination of status. In addition, she works with clients to address potential unrelated business income tax matters and with private foundations regarding prohibited transactions such as self-dealing and excess business holdings.

Mary is a former member of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Advisory Committee for Tax Exempt and Governmental Organizations and a past chair of American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Exempt Organizations Tax Technical Resource Panel. Mary is a frequent speaker for Deloitte, Healthcare Financial Management Association, American Health Lawyers Association, Central Association of College and University Business Officers, National Association of College and University Business Officers, and AICPA. She is a member of Ohio University School of Accountancy’s Advisory Council.

Mary received a BS in social studies and mathematics from Ohio University and her Master of Accounting degree from University of Illinois.
