Going Global In a Complex World

Expanding into new markets offers organisations significant opportunities for diversification, customer growth, and access to new skills. However, achieving this global expansion sustainably, compliantly, and in a scalable fashion, particularly concerning talent, presents complex challenges. Overlooking the personal, logistical, and regulatory requirements associated with moving talent and/or hiring cross border can lead to severe consequences, including reputational damage, financial penalties, talent attrition, and legal sanctions. The article identifies three critical talent-related areas organisations must address: clearly defining business needs and corporate objectives, navigating intricate compliance requirements, and managing logistics, rewards, and employee wellbeing effectively.

To successfully navigate these complexities, organisations must meticulously plan for talent requirements, understand the implications of employment entities, tax, immigration, and social security.
