EMEA Dbriefs - Navigating the EU tax simplification package: key changes under the omnibus and DAC recast (On demand)

On 24 June 2026, the European Commission published its EU tax simplification package, made up of two proposals: the direct taxation Omnibus and a recast of the Directive on Administrative Cooperation (DAC). Together they aim to simplify the EU direct tax framework, cut compliance costs (estimated at around EUR 7.9 billion), and boost competitiveness, while preserving existing anti-avoidancesafeguards. During the webcast, we’ll discuss: 

• The Omnibus directives amendments, the modernising of ATAD interest limitation rules, streamlining the CFC/Pillar Two interaction, the simplifying of withholding tax procedures, and introducing full expensing for R&D assets.
• How the DAC recast consolidates DAC1–DAC9 into a single instrument and reduces reporting burdens,  including DAC6 exemption for groups in scope of Pillar Two, a higher DAC7 threshold, and a single DAC4/DAC9 notification.
