NIS 2 is the European wide update to the Network and Information Security Directive (NIS), which aims to enhance the cyber security and resilience of essential services and digital infrastructure. It repeals and replaces current legislation and EU member states must establish compliance measures. In the UK, this is being managed by enhancing existing regulatory profiles and expanding coverage through the UK Cyber Security and Resilience Bill. Changes driven by NIS 2 become enforceable over the coming years. Multiple sectors that deliver essential services and their supply chains are affected.
