Integrity Guidance

At Deloitte, integrity is at the heart of everything we do. It's how we've built trust with the businesses we work with, regulators, and the public; and it's fundamental to how we expect you to approach our recruitment process.

Our assessments are designed to give you a chance to showcase your individual skills and abilities. We want to see what you can do. That's why we expect the highest levels of integrity from every candidate. This means:

  • Answering questions honestly and independently: Show us your genuine skills and knowledge.
  • Relying on your own judgement and decision-making: We want to see how you think.
  • Protecting Deloitte's assessment information: Keep assessment content confidential – don't share it with anyone, including friends, online platforms, or AI tools.

How do we use AI at Deloitte:

AI is rapidly changing how we work at Deloitte, and we're leading the way in helping other organisations adopt AI effectively. You can read more about this here.

AI: When it's okay (and when it's not)

For a fair and consistent assessment, we have specific guidelines regarding AI use. While you're welcome to use AI responsibly in your preparation, its use is prohibited in certain stages (detailed below) to maintain the integrity of our evaluation.

Feel free to use AI when:

  • Exploring career paths at Deloitte: You might choose to use AI to research different career paths within Professional Services to discover what excites you. Our Discover Your Path tool for Early Careers roles can also help you find the perfect fit.
  • Preparing for the selection process: AI can help you prepare for the selection process, manage your time, and meet deadlines. Alongside AI, our Candidate Zone offers valuable and reliable resources to help you succeed. Candidates who use it often perform better, so it’s worth checking out.
  • Researching your final stage assessment topic (if you progress to this stage): Your final assessment (for Graduate, Industrial Placement, BrightStart, and Entry-Level Apprenticeship schemes) will involve researching a topic. AI tools can really help with this as they can assist with research and structuring your work. But remember to always double-check everything the AI produces - make sure it's accurate and that you can back up any information with reliable sources. If you do use AI, be ready to explain how you used it to your interviewer.
  • Preparing for interviews: You may use AI feedback tools to help you practice your response to possible interview questions but it’s important that you use your own experiences, not AI generated content that doesn’t authentically reflect you.
  • Reflecting on your personal development: You might decide to use AI to help you process feedback and identify areas for development.

Please do not use AI when:

  • Completing online assessments (i.e. – the Immersive Online Assessment & Job Simulation):  All online assessments must be completed independently without AI assistance.
  • During interviews (in person and virtual): The use of AI can be a helpful tool to assist you in your preparations; however, when it comes to interviews, we ask all candidates to showcase their skills and experience authentically by completing all interviews without using AI assistance. We want to get to know the real you.
  • After your assessment: Assessment details should not be shared with AI tools: This violates Deloitte's Integrity Guidelines and intellectual property rights.

Using AI to Support Reasonable Adjustments

If you are considering the use of AI tools to support with a reasonable adjustment (e.g., note-taking), please contact our accessibility team before your interview so we can explore the best support options.

Consequences of Using AI Inappropriately

AI can misrepresent your abilities and undermines the fairness of the process for all involved. We trust you to honestly represent your skills and experience and do have measures in place to detect AI-generated responses.

If we believe that you have used AI to misrepresent your skills and abilities, in our assessments or interviews, this will result in your removal from the selection process. We may also report this to your educational institution.

If inappropriate use of AI in the recruitment process is discovered after hiring, it could lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.  We may also be required to report this to relevant professional bodies.

Integrity Statement

Before starting your online assessment, you'll be asked to record a short integrity statement confirming your understanding and agreement to these guidelines. If you would like to discuss any adjustments, please contact us, and a member of our team will be in touch with you within 48 working hours.

Fraudulent Websites

We’re aware that there are some websites offering assessment insights for a fee. These are not endorsed by Deloitte and often provide misleading or false information. We will never charge for assessment advice and have designed our Candidate Zone to give you the preparation guidance and insight you need for our recruitment process. Using answers from websites would be a breach of our Integrity Guidelines; please use only our official resources for genuine and trustworthy support.

Reporting Concerns

If you become aware of any unethical behaviour or fraudulent websites, please report it confidentially via EthicsPoint - Deloitte Global. We're committed to ensuring a fair process for everyone.
