Digitising healthcare: Deloitte wins at the Reseller News Innovation Awards

The 2025 Reseller News Innovation Awards were recently held at Auckland’s Cordis hotel, celebrating excellence across New Zealand’s technology sector. The awards shine a light on new ideas, transformation, and impact, showcasing 144 finalists across 63 organisations.

It was a proud moment for Deloitte and our ServiceNow alliance, this year winning the Enterprise Award in the Partner category. This category recognises technology partners delivering exceptional solutions to large organisations with over 1000 people.

The challenge

We received this award in the Partner category for helping Health New Zealand with aligning and improving how it manages its facilities and equipment, from helipads to car parks. In the past, the organisation managed its assets across multiple processes, data models, and fragmented District Health Board systems. Routine maintenance was often carried out through manual, paper-based processes.

What we did

Deloitte set up a Facilities Asset Management Information System (AMIS) nationally for Health New Zealand using ServiceNow’s Field Services Management (FSM). The FSM platform automates work orders and scheduling, and tracks resources, all in one place to improve efficiency across the board.

The Deloitte alliance team worked under a tight timeline, running collaborative workshops and moving quickly from pilot to nationwide implementation. By streamlining the process, the project’s cost and timeline was cut by 70%, with an initial go-live in eight weeks and full national rollout in just seven months.

Making an impact, together

For the first time, Health New Zealand can see and track all its facilities and assets in one place, with data now consolidated within ServiceNow. The system is designed to grow with the organisation, making it easy to add new assets and facilities in the future. Automated grouping now organises assets by location and type for simple tagging and maintenance.

A modern mobile app makes it easy to coordinate multiple tradespeople for jobs without the need for paper. Staff can also use a self-service portal to proactively manage work and report issues.

Why this work matters

Health New Zealand saves lives, so maintaining assets effectively helps prevent disruptions to emergency services and patient care. Since the rollout, Health New Zealand has noticed savings and efficiencies across the country, getting more work done, faster, and having better visibility of assets. Proactively maintaining public health infrastructure builds trust that taxpayer money is being invested well.

Deloitte is proud of our win at the Reseller News Innovation Awards, showing our commitment to digital transformation in the health sector. The project highlighted the capability of our alliance with ServiceNow, working to make an impact quickly, together
