For 25 years, the Deloitte Fast 50 index has recognised the businesses powering Aotearoa New Zealand’s growth – and entries are now open for the 2025 programme.
The awards, which champion businesses turning ambition into revenue and scaling at speed, have featured some of the country’s most recognisable brands over the past quarter of a century.
As it marks this milestone, the Deloitte Fast 50 is looking back at the best of the private businesses to place on its indices, while also searching for the next wave of high-growth organisations ready to make their mark.
“Reaching 25 years is a proud moment, not just for the Deloitte Fast 50 programme, but also for the businesses contributing to this legacy of growth,” says James Arlidge, Deloitte Private Partner.
“Over the years, winners have come from many different industries – from technology, utility and communications providers through to consumer products and food and beverage – demonstrating the diversity and talent that drives success across New Zealand’s business landscape. These awards are a celebration of the ambition, resilience and entrepreneurial spirit they all share.
“Some of the country’s most well-known brands have featured in the Deloitte Fast 50 indices and it’s been a privilege to see them grow from those early success stories into industry leaders.”
Past Fast 50 alumni include Trade Me, 2Degrees, Legend Story Studios, Night 'n Day Foodstores, 42 Below and Delivereasy. Deloitte is recognising the programme’s fastest growing businesses of all time with a ‘Top 25 over 25 years’ index, ranking past national winners in order of growth percentage.
Deloitte’s Fast 50 programme consists of two indices – the Fast 50 index that acknowledges significant growth over a three-year period, and the Master of Growth index, which celebrates established businesses who have had sustained growth over a longer term.
The programme celebrates these achievements at both a regional and national level across several categories. All fast-growing businesses are encouraged to enter the 2025 programme by filling out the online form.
“Entries are now open, and we’re excited to see what the next generation of winners are already achieving,” Arlidge says. “If businesses are scaling quickly and redefining fast growth, this is their moment to be recognised.”
Entries for the Deloitte Fast 50 are open now until 29 August. The 2025 categories have been expanded to include healthcare, Māori and Pasifika owned, and food and beverage.
The Deloitte Fast 50 is proud to be sponsored by BNZ. More information about this year’s programme, including entry criteria, entry forms and key dates, can be found at fast50.co.nz.
