Leadership team

Marc joined Deloitte in 1994 immediately after graduating in Accountancy from the University of Malta. Following an initial period within the Audit & Assurance team, he moved to Deloitte's Tax business where he was actively involved in the development of Deloitte Malta's International Tax service line. Marc assumed leadership of the Tax business on 1 January 2014, a tenure he held until his appointment as Deloitte Malta CEO in January 2020.

Michael is the Audit & Assurance leader at Deloitte Malta. Michael is specialised in Investment Management Services working within Deloitte's Financial Services Practice. Michael services a broad client base both locally and internationally and is responsible for the statutory and non-statutory audits of a number of clients, including collective investment schemes, investment management companies and fund administrators as well as other regulated and non-regulated entities. Michael was appointed to the position of Audit & Assurance business leader of Deloitte Malta, with effect from 1 October 2024.

Christopher is a partner within Deloitte's Tax business in Malta. He specialises in working with multinational clients, providing support on financing, IP and value chain alignment projects. He currently serves as chairperson of the Malta Institute of Taxation’s International Tax Sub-committee. 

Richard is Director of Technology & Security at Deloitte Malta with experience working both locally and abroad. Richard spent the first ten years of his career involved in external/client engagements in areas of technology, security controls implementation, security investigations, technical training and worked with PIEs in the banking and insurance industries. Richard is the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of Deloitte Central Mediterranean (DCM), a combined firm comprising Deloitte Italy, Deloitte Greece and Deloitte Malta; and the Chief Confidentiality Officer (CCO) for Deloitte Malta, responsible for implementing strategic alignment of the Confidentiality Strategy in Malta. 

Chris joined Deloitte Malta in 2017 to take over the leadership of the Indirect Tax service line, leading a team of dedicated professionals providing a wide range of indirect tax advisory and compliance services to Deloitte’s local and international clients. Chris is a Certified Public Accountant with extensive experience and expertise in VAT and tax matters.  

Timothy's role is within the Cross-Border tax team where he assists a number of clients on cross-border transactions. In particular, Timothy has over the years developed a keen interest in the online gaming sector and in fact assists a number of operators within this sector on a number of different tax and regulatory matters. 

Jonathan is a partner at Deloitte in Malta and former Vice Chair at Deloitte in London.

At Deloitte in Malta, Jonathan's focus is on growth strategy and capability development.

Prior to joining Deloitte Malta in 2025, Jonathan joined American strategy consulting firm Monitor in 1989, working directly with one of the founders, Michael Porter, and became a partner 25 years ago, joining the firm in London when Monitor was acquired by Deloitte in 2012. 

Nick leads Deloitte's International Tax team in Malta, focusing on transaction and implementation support, typically to multinational groups and private clients.

Antoine is a partner at Deloitte Malta within the Audit & Assurance team. He is mainly involved in the audit of both national and international groups and companies. He has more than thirteen years’ practical knowledge and audit experience in various industries including pharmaceutical, healthcare, construction, port operations, real estate, oil and gas, and renewable energy. 

Daniel is a partner at Deloitte Malta within the Tax team, with the responsibility to lead, grow and transform the Corporate Direct Tax Compliance and Global Employer Services service lines. Daniel has over 18 years of experience in tax services, having joined Deloitte in 2007 after graduating from the University of Malta.   

Caroline is the People & Purpose leader at Deloitte Malta, overseeing the People function and leading initiatives related to talent, people experience and employer branding. Caroline has been with the firm for over 28 years and continue to support and drive the firms people strategy. In 2018 Caroline completed her Masters in Leadership and Organisation behaviour with Dublin City University where her dissertation focused on Promotion to Partner in a professional service firm. 

Conrad is Deloitte Malta's Tax business leader. He joined Deloitte Malta in 2001, after graduating Master of Laws in International Taxation from the University of Leiden and Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta. Conrad is also the Growth leader for Deloitte Malta and is the managing partner of Deloitte Legal in Malta.  

Ian leads the Strategy, Risk & Transactions business at Deloitte Malta, bringing over 24 years of experience in risk management, assurance, and regulatory advisory.

Sarah has been with Deloitte for over 30 years and has significant experience providing a wide range of services to entities operating in a variety of sectors both locally and overseas. Sarah has been a member of the leadership team since 2008 and has served as Technology & Transformation business leader between 2024 - 2026 as well as a 10-year tenure as Audit & Assurance business leader. Over the years, she has led the audits of a number of public and private entities engaged in a variety of industries, specialising in entities operating in the Financial Services Industry in recent years encompassing insurance, banking and asset management. She has also previously served as the Insurance leader of Deloitte Malta and is involved in non-audit services provided to companies operating within this sector.

Karen joined Deloitte Consulting with over 15 years of experience in Portfolio, Programme and Project Management at different levels of seniority. Karen managed the delivery of business and digital transformation projects in various industries primarily in the UK, including public sector (local and central government), policy and accreditation, private commercial, waste management, financial services, fraud investigation, retail, health and education.

Mark joined Deloitte Malta's Tax business in 2024, within the Business Process Solutions team where he manages a portfolio of clients that operate in various sectors. Together with his team, Mark assists companies in managing their day-to-day operations by offering tailor made solutions, insights, and advice that is intended to help them with the management and oversight of their accounting, tax, human resources, and payroll processes.

John forms a part of Deloitte Malta’s Audit & Assurance business. Having joined in 2024, John brings with him over two decades of experience in corporate reporting, offering guidance to organisations in navigating complex financial reporting challenges.

David joined Deloitte in 1992 following his graduation in accountancy from the University of Malta. David, who is a fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants, has led several audit and related assignments covering a wide range of national and international clients operating in different fields. David is an in-house trainer on International Financial Reporting Standards and auditing techniques and has in the past lectured students in preparation for their professional accounting exams. 

Antoine leads Deloitte Malta's Strategy & Transactions practice, providing integrated advisory services from strategy development through execution, and serves as the industry sector leader for Transportation and Telecoms, Media & Entertainment.

Angela currently leads Deloitte Malta's Quality & Risk Management function and is Deloitte Malta’s Independence Leader, Anti Corruption Champion and Ethics Officer. She also holds the post of Money Laundering Reporting Officer and is Deloitte Malta’s representative on the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners’ and the Malta Institute of Accountants' Anti Money Laundering -committees. 

Jonathan is an English Barrister leading Aviation advisory at Deloitte Malta - Malta aircraft registration, AOC support, leasing operations out of Malta, inbound MRO investment and related legal, tax, corporate and GES work.

Julia joined the Audit & Assurance team at Deloitte Malta in 2011, after graduating as a qualified accountant from the University of Malta. Julia specialises in the financial services industry segment, particularly the banking sector, with a primary focus on audit services provided to this market segment.

Julia currently manages the audits of Deloitte Malta’s banking portfolio as well as a number of collective investment schemes, investment management companies and fund administrators as well as other regulated and non-regulated entities.

Theresa Ghersci is Deloitte Malta’s Audit National Professional Practice Director and is responsible for coordinating the Deloitte Malta’s consultations relating to auditing matters.

Mark is a partner in Audit & Assurance within Deloitte’s Financial Services practice, specialising in clients based in the insurance industry. His experience includes servicing audit clients that operate in the life and non-life insurance industry, both locally and cross border, as well as collective investment schemes, investment managers, pension administrators and pension schemes. 

Damian has worked on numerous projects in the financial industry including ERP, Business Intelligence, Treasury and bespoke development projects, with budgets in excess of 7 figures. These projects have involved requirements gathering, business process modelling, KPI definition and training.

David is a partner in Deloitte Malta’s Strategy, Risk & Transactions business and leads the practice’s financial and regulatory risk service offerings. He predominantly advises banks, investment firms and financial institutions on matters relating to regulatory strategy, corporate governance, prudential requirements and operational risk management.

Malcolm is Deloitte Malta's Chief Financial Officer, charged with bolstering the commercial and operational model of Deloitte Malta. Malcolm has vast experience in leading the finance and administration functions of entities, managing, and optimising the operating performance of these entities, and strategically contributing towards achieving top echelon financial objectives.

Pierre is a seasoned ICT professional and entrepreneur with over 30 years experience, having worked on engagements in various industries such as the public sector, telecommunications, software development, manufacturing, healthcare, media, retail, transportation, financial services and recruitment.

Matteo joined the Tax business at Deloitte Malta in 2023, where he is Transfer Pricing leader.

Matteo brings with him over 20 years’ experience in advising multinational enterprises, private equity firms and corporate clients on transfer pricing analysis and planning, business restructuring and value chain transformation (principal model), as well as Advance Pricing Agreement (APA), Arbitration Convention Procedure (AC) and Mutual Agreement Procedure (MAP) negotiations.

Craig joined Deloitte Malta in 2003 and was highly involved in Deloitte's Corporate Direct Tax Compliance team for a number of years. He currently works on various advisory and compliance projects mainly relating to corporate groups’ shareholding and operational restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions. 

Sandro joined Deloitte Malta in 2016, with over 20 years of practical experience in IT audit, information security, and revenue assurance. At Deloitte, Sandro leads and manages IT Audit & Assurance engagements across various industry sectors, including remote gaming, financial services, aviation, hospitality, and retail. He is also responsible for IT assurance service offerings, such as Control Assurance, Third-party Assurance, and AI & Algorithm Assurance.

Matthew joined Deloitte's Financial Advisory business in 2011. Prior to Deloitte, Matthew read for a MSc in Finance at Imperial College Business School after gaining a Bachelors in Economics from the University of Malta. Matthew has gained significant experience in EU Banking Industry through his involvement in the engagement of providing advisory services to MFSA and ECB in relation to the Asset Quality Review and Stress Test of the systemic banks in Malta.

Joining Deloitte in 1996, Annabelle’s work experience has mainly been in auditing, covering a broad cross section of private and public companies operating in various industries both locally and internationally. In recent years, she has focused on servicing clients with a high local presence. 

Rachel is a partner within the Tax business at Deloitte Malta. Rachel focuses on international tax consulting and advises both local and multinational clients operating in various industries including financial services and life sciences and health care. Rachel’s main focus is on group restructurings, inbound investment structuring and private equity investments.
