An English Barrister by profession, Jonathan was a long-serving Malta Representative to the International Maritime Organisation and is a private pilot with current land and seaplane ratings.
Jonathan has hands on project experience in the transport sector, with a special interest in aircraft leasing and finance. A student of the Law Society of Ireland, BPP Law and the Middle Temple, he holds degrees in Economics, Law and History from the Universities of Malta, London, Sussex and Cambridge. Before joining Deloitte Jonathan was Director General at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and over 20 years worked in Beijing, Moscow and London. Speaking fluent Arabic, Russian and Chinese, he also leads on immigration and serves a number of private clients. Until 2015 he was Chairman of Malta’s Sanctions Monitoring Board.
