Empowering the multiple transitions through STEM skills
On December 2, 2025, the third edition of the EU STEM Observatory, Empowering the Multiple Transitions through STEM Skills, was presented at the European Parliament in Brussels. The event was promoted by Deloitte and the Italian Initiative Group.
The study, conducted by the Deloitte Italian Foundation and the Public Policy & Stakeholder Relations Centre of Deloitte Central Mediterranean, was based on over 11,000 interviews with young students, workers, and companies across 10 European countries - Italy, Malta, Greece, Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Through the STEM Observatory, Deloitte aims to join the efforts of ecosystem actors to raise awareness of STEM disciplines from an early age, promote innovative approaches to lifelong learning, and drive innovation, competitiveness, and social progress across Europe. The conference brought together leading representatives from the European Institutions, academia, and think tanks to explore different perspectives with the aim of identifying the main barriers hindering access to STEM education and possible drivers of change that serve to overcome them.
