Deloitte expands senior team with appointment of eight new partners
Deloitte has announced the expansion of its senior team with the appointment of eight new partners. Sean Smith and Eileen Healy are newly appointed partners in the risk advisory department; Niamh Geraghty and Darren Griffin in the audit department, both with a particular focus on financial services; Daryl Hanberry and Karen Frawley in the tax department; and David Reynolds and Peter Kearney are partners within the firm’s consulting department. Previously directors with the firm, the appointments reflect the importance that the firm places on fostering and recognising excellence in leadership in its business.

Karen Frawley
Karen is a partner in the firm’s tax practice and a member of the firm’s international tax group. She has over 17 years’ experience advising multinational groups investing in Ireland and Irish-based groups on outward investments. She has significant expertise in the area of corporate group reorganisations, the due diligence process, and tax efficient Intellectual Property structures. Karen specialises in business model optimisation advisory and M&A for multinational groups. Karen is an Associate of the Irish Taxation Institute and a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland. She is a Council Member of the Irish Taxation Institute.
Niamh Geraghty
Niamh is an audit partner working in the financial services industry group. She specialises in the provision of assurance and advisory services to clients in the investment management and structured finance sectors. Niamh has wide ranging experience in risk, accounting, advisory and audit services, garnered from working with both Irish domiciled companies as well as large multinational entities. Niamh holds Masters of Accounting and Bachelor of Commerce (International with French) degrees from UCD, and is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
Darren Griffin
Darren is an audit partner working in the financial services industry group. He has over 12 years’ experience specialising in the provision of assurance and advisory services to clients in the investment management industry. Darren has experience in numerous areas including risk, accounting, advisory, and audit services, and provides advice to investment management funds and their service providers. Darren holds a Master’s in Accounting degree from DCU, and is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
Daryl Hanberry
Daryl Hanberry is a tax partner, working with clients across a broad range of industries, including the consumer business, manufacturing and technology sectors. With over 12 years’ experience, he specialises in Global Employer Services, focussing on providing advice on executive remuneration, employment tax, M&A, and international mobility issues. Daryl also has international tax experience focusing on multinational companies appropriately structuring US investment into Ireland. Daryl has previously spent time with Deloitte in both the UK and the US.
He holds a first class Bachelor of Commerce (International) degree and a Master’s of Accounting degree, both from UCD. Daryl is a Chartered Accountant (ACA), Tax Consultant (AITI) and is also a qualified member (CTA) of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in the UK.
Eileen Healy
Eileen is a partner in the firm’s Risk Advisory team. She has over 18 years’ experience in providing risk management, governance, internal audit, compliance and technology assurance services to a wide range of clients across the public and private sectors. Eileen has a particular focus in the agri-food, technology, and life sciences sectors serving clients from our offices in Cork and Limerick as well as nationally. She also has significant experience in governance and risk matters across the Irish public sector including the higher education sector.
Eileen holds Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Business Studies degrees from University College Cork, and is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland. Eileen is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Eileen is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association.
Peter Kearney
Peter is a partner in the Technology Consulting department, and is a leader of SAP-enabled business transformation programmes. He has spent over 18 years delivering SAP solutions and services to clients in both the public and private sectors. Peter’s experience spans numerous industries including food and beverage, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and life sciences, and technology and telecommunications. In addition to SAP implementation experience he also has in-depth functional knowledge of finance, procurement, sales and logistics.Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry from Trinity College Dublin.
David Reynolds
David is a partner in the firm’s Consulting practice, specialising in banking. David has 15 years’ experience providing consulting services to a wide range of domestic and international corporations, predominantly in the banking and insurance sectors. He has extensive experience in leading and advising on large scale transformational change initiatives, including regulatory execution, channel transformation, operational excellence and outsourcing. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics, and a Master’s degree in Cognitive Psychology from the NUI Maynooth, and is a certified management consultant as well as holding chartered status with the Irish Computer Society.
Sean Smith
Sean is a partner in the Risk Advisory department of Deloitte where he provides risk, compliance and regulatory advisory services to financial and non-financial institutions. Sean has over 16 years’ financial services experience and assists firms with obtaining authorisation from the Central Bank of Ireland in addition to providing ongoing conduct and prudential regulatory and compliance support. Sean has particular expertise in assisting firms conduct large scale regulatory remediations. Sean holds a Bachelor of Law degree from UCD, is a qualified solicitor, and also holds an MBA in Regulation and Compliance from Smurfit Business School.
