Deloitte, the leading business advisory firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Partners in its Tax Practice. Tom Maguire has joined the firm as a Partner having come from PwC while Louise Kelly will be promoted to Partner, having been with the firm for 14 years. Tom and Louise will be responsible for delivering the highest levels of client service.
Tom Maguire
Tom joins Deloitte as a Partner in the Tax Practice and will lead the firm’s Tax Policy and Technical Services team. He will provide high quality advice and services to clients, delivering the insights they need to address their most complex business issues.
Tom brings over 15 years of experience to the role, providing tax advice on a wide range of domestic and international corporation tax matters. He is highly regarded within the tax profession as a technical specialist. His extensive experience includes having authored and co-authored leading texts on matters such as the Irish tax impact of IFRS, certain financial services transactions and general anti-avoidance. Counsel in the foreword to Tom’s most recent text referred to him as one of the country’s pre-eminent tax commentators.
Tom is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and the Irish Tax Institute (by thesis) and holds a Masters in Business Administration degree from Trinity College Dublin.
Louise Kelly
Previously a Director with the firm, Louise Kelly has been appointed Partner in the firm’s Tax practice specialising in corporate and international tax. She will advise clients on complex tax matters and deliver high-quality solutions to address their business issues.
Louise brings over 13 years’ experience to the role having joined the firm in 2001 and led Deloitte's Irish desk in New York during 2011 and 2012. She advises Irish and multinational companies on a wide range of Irish and international tax matters. Louise has significant experience in inward investment projects and international tax planning with a particular focus on advising companies in the life sciences and technology industries. Louise has extensive experience providing advice on cross-border M&A transactions.
Louise holds a BSc in Accounting from University College Cork and is an associate of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and the Irish Taxation Institute.
