Drive government technology innovation while empowering continuity of mission operations

Agencies today face the challenge of achieving mission objectives while adapting to rapidly evolving technology, systems, and workforce needs. See how Deloitte’s Operate to Innovate approach has helped government clients anticipate and overcome everyday challenges to maintaining and innovating operations.

  • Client story

    Medicaid IT infrastructure transformation

A large state Health Benefit Exchange (HBX) sought to enhance Customer Experience (CX) and prepare for emerging technologies. Deloitte was engaged to manage and enhance the on-premise software platform and develop a migration strategy using the Deloitte Cloud Migration Factory methodology to transition to Amazon Web Services (AWS). The state selected Deloitte for its strong relationship, successful track record, expertise in similar projects, and leadership in cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity consulting.

  • Client story

    Mission effectiveness

Components within a US health research agency required staff to manually read applications and sort them by scientific discipline. This process took several weeks and significantly delayed the referral process. Deloitte deployed Artificial Intelligence (AI) to assist in assigning grant applications to appropriate review groups. This AI tool scans an application’s text, title, and abstract and assigns it to an appropriate group with 92% accuracy.

  • Client story

Innovation in fragmented legacy technology systems

Inconsistent processes and legacy software constraints at a US federal agency slowed the rollout of new features in response to urgent legislative mandates. Implementing continuous integration, continuous delivery pipelines, and automated testing, alongside Agile delivery, enabled the agency to branch code quickly and safely. This implementation also capitalised on cross-functional skill sets to introduce new features without impacting other processes critical to mission operations.

  • Client story

    Secure and resilient operations

A large state's human services agency faced growing demand to maintain consistent IT services availability for individuals and families in need of immediate support. Deloitte introduced AI/machine learning-enabled capabilities to deliver data-driven insights, detect system anomalies in real time, and provide system alerts based on configurable thresholds. This allowed the agency to quickly resolve issues and maintain systems for those they serve.

Transforming IT Operations with AIOps

Organization are seeking solutions that are proactive and predictive, to prevent problems rather than respond to them. Artificial Intelligence offers unique solutions that can address a range of IT operation challenges.

Modern Virtualization & Hybrid Cloud Migration

Virtualization and containerization facilitate seamless integration with public cloud services, offering a hybrid infrastructure that combines on-premise and cloud benefits. This approach empowers enterprises with on-demand resource scaling and access to robust cloud capabilities.

Mitigating Risk through Transition Management

Whether transitioning support from an implementation to an operations team or support from one contractor to another, a best-in-class transition approach provides strong continuity of operations and minimizes potential risk associated with unplanned system outages.

Maturing in AIOps

AIOps is the culmination of many efforts and initiatives intended to build workforce multipliers, reduce human error, and adopt an automate first disposition. IT leaders committed to the journey will likely benefit from maturing the component entities to improve quality, and manage ever increasingly complex IT environments.
