Dr. Jennifer Caspari

Dr. Jennifer Caspari is a behavioral health specialist and clinician leader in Deloitte’s commercial healthcare strategy practice. Prior to joining the firm, Jennifer spent many years in academic medicine where she designed, implemented, and evaluated integrated in-person and digital behavioral health initiatives in primary care, specialty care, and inpatient settings, attending to clinical, operational, and financial barriers and facilitators to promote the effectiveness and sustainability of whole person care. She has additionally served as a healthcare provider (medical family therapist), educator (teaching physicians and psychosocial providers), and researcher (focused on provider burnout and the use of technology in integrated healthcare settings). At Deloitte, she serves clients in many ways, including assessing and making recommendations to enhance quality of care, developing mental health market entry strategies, and developing programs to support the wellbeing of both consumers and employees. She also spends her time developing behavioral health thought leadership and presenting on Deloitte’s Future of Behavioral Health perspective at national and international conferences. How does your clinical experience translate to the work you do at Deloitte? As a behavioral health provider and builder of multidisciplinary teams, focusing on creating and sustaining strong, healthy relationships has been a large part of my academic medicine career. At Deloitte, creating strong relationships with colleagues and clients and providing the space for my teams to build healthy connections is similarly instrumental for success and wellbeing at work. The humans doing the work are the most important part, and that has not changed as my career and place of work has evolved.

Dr. Felix Matthews

Dr. Felix Matthews is a managing director in the Academic Health/Research Leaders practice and has been with Deloitte for more than 12 years. Prior to joining the firm, he trained in trauma surgery and accident medicine and led research focused on clinical technology innovation, image-guided technology, and device innovation at major academic centers in the United States and abroad. He is experienced in corporate strategy, care model innovation, physician engagement strategies, clinical affiliation strategy, value-based payments, operating model design, and digital health strategy, among others. At Deloitte, Felix advises his clients on strategies to succeed in an increasingly competitive market, including deployment of new clinical care models and digital health technologies. His clients are academic health systems, national health plans, and life sciences companies. How does your clinical experience translate to the work you do at Deloitte? I started my career as an academic clinician and principal investigator leading several industry-sponsored innovation studies. The disconnect between health care business management and clinical care delivery became blatantly obvious to me at that time. After careful deliberation, I decided to pursue an MBA at Harvard Business School and subsequently transition into health care consulting. I now bring my experience as a clinician, researcher, and entrepreneur to the table when advising health care and life sciences clients. Having been there, done that gives me a differentiated perspective that my clients value.
