US multinationals with a European Union (EU) presence, face a pressing compliance requirement: the EU Pay Transparency Directive. This extensive legislation, aiming to improve equal pay and reduce the gender pay gap, sets core requirements for pay transparency and reporting across all EU member states. Member states have until June 2026 to transpose itinto local law, and statutory reporting begins in 2027.
