“Our partnership with Deloitte has opened new opportunities for young people, helped them develop life-changing skills and ensured children in care feel safe, heard and valued.”
Sharon Lovell, CEO, NYAS Cymru
Social impact is about making a difference where it matters most.
As part of our three-year local-office partnerships with 22 charities, Deloitte teams from across the UK have been showing up, pitching in and giving back to their communities.
From tackling digital exclusion to improving young people’s learning opportunities, career prospects and mental health, our people have raised over £2 million and completed almost 4,000 hours of pro bono advice. Across our local offices, our people volunteered their time and talent, creating meaningful change for the charities they championed. We used our skills, networks and resources to drive local impact.
With these partnerships having come to an end in 2025, we spotlight three in Glasgow, London and Cardiff that show how local change can build better futures. It’s just a snapshot of the fantastic work that has taken place since 2022. Thank you to all our colleagues who got involved and made it possible, and to all the charity partners it has been our pleasure to support.
In Glasgow, our collaboration with Move On has enabled young people and adults to take important steps towards independent, fulfilling lives.
As well as logging over 1,400 volunteer hours at the FareShare warehouse, distributing food to those in need, we’ve run workshops on topics like financial awareness, budgeting and saving. Our people have also held more than 30 mock interviews to build participants’ confidence and donated over 150 laptops to bridge the digital divide.
Alongside this, colleagues raised over £70,000 through activities like quiz nights, fantasy football leagues, marathons and even scaling Mount Kilimanjaro.
In London and Birmingham, we’ve raised over £700,000 for children’s mental health charity Place2Be, which places trained counsellors in schools, helping the charity to reach students in need who might otherwise go without support.
We’ve also delivered some transformational pro bono work, including business continuity development, a critical incident session for its executive team and a strategy project looking at programmes to help scale support. Additionally, we supported Place2Be in strengthening its use of data to inform a best practice model for school-based mental health provision for the area, ultimately enabling the charity to support more young people with their mental health.
Deloitte’s partnership with the National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS) has changed the lives of hundreds of care-experienced children and young people across Wales. The work was commended at the 2024 Better Society Awards for Local Community Commitment.
Our Cardiff-based colleagues joined seminars run by NYAS and the Welsh government to better understand the needs of children in care. We’ve been involved in supporting children and young people in care through volunteering as independent visitors. Teams have also run training for NYAS, provided bursaries for care-experienced young people, transformed community spaces and delivered Christmas presents. And that’s on top of the £100,000 colleagues have raised through, for example, running the Cardiff Half Marathon and organising bake-offs.
We also provided NYAS with pro bono support, including assisting on a campaign to help the charity with digital marketing and PR. This raised awareness, money and volunteer sign-ups for its Independent Visitor Service.
While we say goodbye to some partnerships, our story with NYAS isn’t ending. Employee votes have selected our new charity partners for the next three years and strong support for NYAS ensures our work with them continues.
We look forward to working with our new charities to continue to make a positive difference in our communities.
