Deloitte UK promotes over 6,000 people and increases equity partners to a record high

  • Firm continues to invest in its people with promotions, average in-grade salary increases of 4.2% and higher bonuses following a very strong financial performance;

Deloitte in the UK will promote over 6,000 of its people on 1 June 2026, including 48 new partners, as it continues to invest in its future leadership.

Rewarding high performance

Alongside these 6,000 promotions (up from approximately 5,600 in 2025), as part of the firm’s commitment to competitively reward skills and experience, average salaries in-grade will rise by an average of 4.2% (up from 2.9% in 2025). In addition, following a very strong financial performance in FY26 the bonus pool will increase by 14% across the business.

Jackie Henry, managing partner, people and purpose at Deloitte UK, said: “We are hugely proud of the role our people play in the firm’s success and pleased to recognise the contribution of our highest performing colleagues with an increase in promotions and bonuses this year. This is alongside our existing competitive reward packages and market-leading benefits, including private medical insurance, enhanced family policies, flexible bank holidays and world-class learning and development opportunities.”

Record number of equity partners

As announced last year, the firm has continued to focus on the shape of the partnership to support future growth – significantly increasing the number of its UK equity partners. On 1 June, 68 salaried partners will convert to equity partner. The number of partners overall will therefore stand at 1,308 – of which 784 are equity partners, the highest annual total since Deloitte LLP was incorporated in 2003.

The firm’s technology & transformation business has promoted 15 new partners, alongside 16 in tax & legal, 10 in strategy, risk & transactions advisory, and seven in audit & assurance. 31% of new partners are based outside of London, 27% are women and 15% are from an ethnic minority background including one black heritage new partner. Over a quarter (29%) work in financial services.

Deloitte also recruited 21 new external hires at partner level during the financial year from June 2025 to the end of May 2026, of which 38% are women and 19% are from an ethic minority background.

Richard Houston, outgoing CEO of Deloitte UK, said: “This significant investment in our people and our partnership reflects a very strong year for our firm and our confidence in the future. Amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, our clients continue to seek our support as their trust and transformation partner, and we are well positioned to build on our success in the market – both in the UK and across the EMEA region.”

On 1 June 2026 Darren Graves will succeed Richard Houston as CEO of Deloitte UK, who will become CEO of Deloitte EMEA. The firm will release its FY26 UK financial results on 30 September 2026.
