Deloitte comments on today's ONS GDP figures
Commenting on today’s ONS GDP figures, Debapratim De, director of economic research at Deloitte, said:
“This pickup in August does little to mask the fact that UK growth is slowing after a surprisingly strong start to the year. We expect a continued recovery, but a broad-based pickup in household spending is key to good growth. The Chancellor will be hoping that rising real incomes and lower interest rates deliver a lasting boost to consumer demand.”
