Vendela is a Town Planner working in the Planning & Development team of Real Assets Advisory at Deloitte. She provides strategic advice on plan-making, planning policy, development management and master planning functions on projects ranging from major residential and mixed-use schemes to energy and transport infrastructure consents. Prior to joining Deloitte, she worked at the London Borough of Southwark leading on strategic projects which ranged from providing planning advice on the delivery of new council homes to development of planning policies within the Local Plan. She is passionate about supporting actors operating within the planning system, both in the UK and internationally, to reach their sustainable development goals.
Alongside her work at Deloitte, Vendela is an ESRC-funded PhD candidate at the University of Cambridge. Her research evaluates the planning system and barriers to housing delivery within major regeneration projects, where she looks at the evolving role of collaborative planning practices in enabling development consents. Her ongoing research practice enables her bridge her academic expertise to support her clients’ needs.
