Tom leads Deloitte's Sports Business Group’s work on environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives, works with ‘sports for good’ organisations and governing bodies to develop related strategies, helps investors understand the ESG performance of assets in their portfolio and looks to influence change within the sports industry. He co-authored the insight piece 'A sporting chance: The role of sport in mitigating climate change', contributes to Deloitte's thought leadership on these topics and regularly participates in industry events and webinars.
More widely, he has completed a number of socio-economic impact studies for governing bodies, clubs and venue owners, has been involved in buy-side and sell-side due diligence projects for football clubs in the Premier League, English Football League Championship and Serie A, works extensively within women's football and undertakes engagements covering a wide range of strategic projects for competition organisers and investors in sports including Tennis, Formula 1, Squash and Horseracing.
He is the sub-editor of the Deloitte Football Money League and is an author of the Annual Review of Football Finance – the Group’s two industry leading publications. Prior to joining the Sports Business Group in 2018, he qualified as an ACA Chartered Accountant in Deloitte’s audit practice where he worked with a range of public and private sector clients in a wide variety of industries.
