Sylvia Chai

Sylvia is the lead partner-in-charge of Deloitte’s Global Capital Markets Group, a team of 6 partners and 30+ professionals specializing in SEC regulations, US GAAP and IFRS reporting. Sylvia has more than eighteen years of experience in public accounting. Prior to joining the Deloitte UK firm in 2007, Sylvia spent six years in the national accounting technical advisory group in Deloitte Australia.

Sylvia is highly experienced in the application of SEC rules and regulations and on IFRS and US GAAP requirements to large multinational clients and on complex transactions and US capital market offerings (US IPOs and private placements). This is supported by the fact that she is the specialist SEC reporting partner for Deloitte UK’s two largest life science clients and that she led the largest IFRS/US GAAP conversion advisory project in the firm.

Sylvia also works closely with other Deloitte firms within EMEA and their clients on the application of these requirements. In particular, Sylvia has worked extensively within the Nordics, Netherlands and South Africa.
