He is an Enterprise Architect with a background in Software Engineering, Data, and Platforms. He has worked at Deloitte since 2012, following a 16 year career technology across the Utilities, Services, and Financial Services sectors.
Throughout his career he has helped our Public Sector, Life Science, and Financial Services clients (in the UK, US, Denmark, and Sweden) deliver complex platforms and associated transformations - in highly regulated environments. He uses the knowledge gained through these engagements to standardise and accelerate deliveries for new clients.
He has a strong focus on ensuring both the quality and security of our solutions. This is realised through his leadership of the (Quality) Kitemarking aspect of our Engineering Excellence programme.
Stephen is also an advocate of Frictionless Engineering, whereby security, compliance, and observability tooling is unobtrusively built into processes - allowing Engineers to focus their time on delivering fantastic products, rather than on cumbersome manual processes and accreditation.
Stephen believes the strength of Deloitte lies in our people. Being people-focussed, he is heavily invested in Junior Talent and our academies programme, where we provide people with opportunities in Deloitte they would not otherwise have. He works to ensure diversity and equity as part of our recruitment. Alongside this, Stephen sponsors PROUD (Deloitte's LGBTQ+ network) in Northern Ireland.
Stephen, originally from Ballymena, lives with his partner, Samuel - who has supported him throughout his career - and their pets. They enjoy the countryside, equestrianism, and gardening (in between the rain).
