Hugh joined the Deloitte NSE Board and UKOB as an INE in February 2024 and is a member of Deloitte’s Global Independent Non-Executive Advisory Council.
Currently Chair of Birmingham International Airport, he also holds roles with the International Olympic Committee, Epsom Downs Racecourse Committee, and The House of Lords Appointments Commission.
Previously, Hugh held prominent leadership roles, including Chair of The British Olympic Association, Camelot and The Sports Honours Committee. He served as a UK government minister from 2010–2014, including as Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, responsible for the Middle East, North Africa and Counter Terrorism, and as Minister for Sport and the Olympics with responsibility for the London 2012 Olympic Games. A former army officer, he has been a member of the Royal Household since 2015.
