Banking is at an inflection point, shaped by a shift in how decisions are made, how services are delivered and how trust is earned.

Banks and capital markets firms have spent years investing in cloud, real-time data, APIs and AI. Yet many continue to struggle with their transformation journeys as legacy complexity, inconsistent returns from AI pilots and architectural silos continue to slow progress.

Agentic AI offers a new path forward. It builds on prior transformation work, while reframing the challenge. Rather than only analysing information or generating content, agentic systems are able to act with autonomy, in real time, on behalf of customers, employees and institutions. In time, and in some contexts, agents will become part of the customer journey itself.

This is a structural shift that calls for strategic attention now.
