ACL Insurance Limited (in liquidation) – information for creditors

This page provides information for creditors in relation to the liquidation of ACL Insurance Limited (ACLI).

Background information

ACLI was initially placed under judicial management in 1989, with its affairs overseen by a judicial manager until the appointment of the liquidator.

The judicial manager reviewed ACLI’s situation and determined that ongoing trading was not viable. Following the resolution of several complex matters concerning the allocation of claims among various classes of creditors and policyholders, the judicial manager submitted a report to the court recommending the appointment of a liquidator.

On 7 June 1991, the Official Assignee was appointed as the liquidator of ACLI.

Distribution

Deloitte is acting as agents of the Official Assignee to complete the final distribution. Creditors will receive a letter from us, requesting details be provided to facilitate creditor distributions.

A link to the online portal to provide the requested information is set out in your letter and also accessible here.

We ask that the requested information is provided to us in accordance with the letter in a timely manner so that we can look to issue the final distribution to all affected creditors.

As the information on hand is likely to be outdated and verifications are required, it is likely to take several months before a payment is made to you. We will be in contact to provide an update when payment is available to be released.
