Being an Intern is the perfect way to spend your summer and experience life at Deloitte after completing your penultimate year of study. You'll become part of a cohort using the study break to get hands-on work experience, so together you can discover more about the fields you're interested in pursuing post-graduation.
The people at Deloitte are the best at what they do and learning from high-performers is a fantastic way to kickstart your growth and career.
Interns have a two-day in-office induction to understand the corporate environment, become familiar with professional expectations, and learn what to expect from the programme. The internship runs from mid-November (following university exams), breaks for three weeks over the Christmas and New Year holidays, and finishes in early February – before you head back to university for your final year. You will learn collaboratively and build a foundation for your career alongside more than 150 of your peers.
After you've signed your contract, you’ll start in November of that year. You'll be allocated a buddy from your team who will connect with you before you start, answer any questions you may have, and invite you to any team events so you can feel part of the Deloitte whānau from the get-go.
If you’re interested in pursuing a graduate role after your internship, your buddy and coach can provide feedback and ensure you make the most of the opportunity. Many interns receive a graduate contract at the end of a summer internship, which means there's no need to apply for a job once university is over as one is already secured!
Remember, internships are only available if you have one more year of study to complete before graduating. If you’re already in your final year of study, you can apply for a graduate position even if you didn't complete an internship.
