I have over 30 years of insolvency experience, starting my career with the Insolvency and Trustee Service dealing with individual bankruptcies.
I am currently an Associate Director in the Turnaround & Restructuring Team at Deloitte where I actively manage the day-to-day management of liquidations, receiverships, Estate administration and advisory and turnaround assignments.
Restructuring assignments provide a vast amount of exposure to numerous industry classifications and varying skills are required to deal with the challenge of each assignment. These include the trading of businesses, dealing with the competing interests of varying parties, negotiating of contracts, sale of assets and analysis of the financial affairs of the entity. A sound understanding of insolvency and company law is required, together with other areas of law that may be relevant.
Estate administration is another interesting part of my role realising the assets of an estate for the benefit of beneficiaries.
