Auckland, 31 October 2024: Named today, this year’s finalists in the Deloitte Top 200 Awards have proven that embracing innovation and showcasing agility underpin outstanding business performance in challenging economic times.
Each year, the Deloitte Top 200 Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding individual and management team performances among New Zealand’s largest companies and trading organisations. The 2024 finalists have demonstrated that, even in an unsettled business and geopolitical environment, opportunities can be created by harnessing innovation and future-focused solutions.
“New Zealand organisations and their leaders have continued to face significant economic headwinds over the last year, requiring them to challenge the status quo and be more resilient and adaptable than ever,” says Deloitte New Zealand Chief Executive, Mike Horne.
“Today’s finalists demonstrate agility, foresight and a commitment to continuous innovation which enables them to deliver value for their people, customers, and communities. We’re excited to celebrate their achievements today, while looking forward to the winners being announced at the Deloitte Top 200 Awards in December.”
A rapidly changing technology landscape, including navigating the potential of Artificial Intelligence, continues to be a focus for executives at New Zealand’s top organisations. Delivering stakeholder value, proactively tackling ESG considerations, and demonstrating progress in workforce transformation are also issues on the leadership agenda.
Fran O’Sullivan, New Zealand Media and Entertainment’s Head of Business Content, has returned as judging convenor for the 35th year of the awards.
“The Top 200 represents the incredible depth and resilience of New Zealand firms, providing inspiration to the broader business sector with the finalists' leadership and bold responses to the current economic environment,” says O’Sullivan.
Alongside Fran O’Sullivan on the Deloitte Top 200 independent judging panel are Jonathan Mason, Neil Paviour-Smith, Gavin Lonergan, and Hinerangi Raumati-Tu’ua.
In addition to the deep expertise of the judging panel, the Deloitte Top 200 Awards would not be possible without our exclusive media sponsor, The New Zealand Herald, and the support of award category sponsors Amazon Web Services (AWS), Barfoot & Thompson, BusinessNZ, Forsyth Barr, Hobson Leavy, ServiceNow, Snowflake, Tax Traders, University of Auckland Business School and 2degrees.
The pre-eminent platform for showcasing the best of New Zealand business, the Deloitte Top 200 programme culminates with a black-tie awards dinner on 5 December at Auckland’s Viaduct Event Centre, where the achievements of award finalists and winners are celebrated.
