Deloitte Top 200 Awards 2025: Celebrating New Zealand businesses

Auckland, 4 December – The winners of the prestigious Deloitte Top 200 Awards have been announced for 2025, recognising the companies and leaders who are moving Aotearoa forward.

Unveiled at an awards ceremony in Auckland, the finalists and winners for this year’s Top 200 were celebrated among their peers for the growth, leadership and vision they have shown throughout tough economic times.

Now in its 36th year, the Deloitte Top 200 Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding individual and management team performance among New Zealand’s largest companies and trading organisations.

Deloitte New Zealand Chief Executive, Mike Horne, believes in an era where technology and innovation are reshaping the way businesses operate, New Zealand business leaders are seizing opportunities to grow.

“Our leaders aren’t waiting for certainty, they’re creating it. By demonstrating a ‘control what you can control’ approach during tough economic times, the most successful businesses have concentrated on the things within reach - like strategy, talent and technology. Making bold choices in these areas, even when the future of the economy isn’t clear, has helped them stand strong in the face of challenges. When the leaders of our biggest companies set this example, the wider business community is likely to do the same,” says Horne.

This year’s Deloitte Top 200 winners remind us that New Zealand businesses thrive when they look outward, embrace global opportunities and lead with purpose.

The Company of the Year award went to Rocket Lab, a business continuing to define what’s possible for New Zealand on the global stage. This recognition acknowledges Rocket Lab’s ability to combine cutting-edge technology with bold ambition, driving the next generation of Kiwi innovators.

Leading Sky TV through a transformative period, Sophie Moloney has helped revitalise the brand with her leadership and positioned Sky as a dynamic player in an evolving media landscape. She has walked away from the Deloitte Top 200 as the 2025 Chief Executive of the Year.

In an impressive showcase of the strength of female leadership, Carmel Fisher received the Visionary Leader award for her unparalleled influence on New Zealand’s investment landscape. She has not only shaped the industry but inspired countless entrepreneurs with her dedication to creating opportunities for growth.

With sustainability still front of mind for the business community, Precinct Properties showed how it is leading the way in sustainable development, integrating environmental responsibility into every aspect of its operations – and is now the proud winner of this year’s Sustainability Leadership Award.

The Best Growth Strategy Award went to Fisher & Paykel Healthcare for delivering exceptional growth through global expansion and innovation. The award celebrates the company’s ability to execute a clear, ambitious strategy that meets the needs of healthcare providers and patients worldwide.

“Our winners demonstrate that while we are proud of our local roots, we cannot operate as an island. Success today means being globally connected, embracing innovation, and building sustainable growth that positions New Zealand as a competitive player on the world stage,” continues Horne.

The judges also recognised Fran O’Sullivan with this year’s Judges’ Recognition award, for her services to the Deloitte Top 200 as head judge and judging panel convener. Marking an extraordinary milestone, Fran has served as convener of the Top 200 judging panel for 12 years of the awards and has helped shape the recognition of New Zealand’s most outstanding businesses and leaders.

Making her final appearance as the judging panel convener for the awards, Fran O’Sullivan said, “it’s been a real privilege to be part of these awards over the last 12 years, and I believe that as a nation, we can take pride in the organisations at the forefront of our economy. These awards recognise their achievements, and I hope they continue to do so for many years to come.”

Joining Fran O’Sullivan on the awards’ main judging panel are Jonathan Mason, Darren Manning, Gavin Lonergan, and Hinerangi Raumati-Tu’ua. In addition to the independent judges, the Deloitte Top 200 Awards would not be possible without exclusive media sponsor, The New Zealand Herald, and the support of category sponsors, Amazon Web Services (AWS), BusinessNZ, Forsyth Barr, Hobson Leavy, ServiceNow, Snowflake, Tax Traders, Credibl and 2degrees.

The Diversity & Inclusion Leadership Award is judged by Juliet Tainui-Hernandez, Dame Ranjna Patel and Rob Campbell, while Dame Joan Withers, Susan Peterson and Liam Dann look after the Young Executive of the Year category. Katie Beith and Kate Wilson Butler are the judging advisors for the Sustainability Leadership Award.

Judge Jonathan Mason, who will step into the role of Top 200 judging panel convener in 2026, said it’s always a tough task to choose the winners of these awards.  “These organisations and leaders have navigated uncertainty with confidence, embraced new ways of working, and delivered exceptional results. Their success demonstrates that strong governance, strategic thinking and execution, and a commitment to people are at the heart of sustainable, market-leading performance,” commented Mason.
