B7 Italy 2024

In early 2024, Deloitte officially took over as the sole Knowledge Partner of Confindustria for the B7 Italy 2024, under the chairmanship of Emma Marcegaglia. The Business 7 (B7) is the G7's most important engagement group: it represents the voice of business from the seven largest advanced economies and plays a key role in directing the priorities of the global economic agenda, providing specific recommendations on the challenges facing G7 Leaders and international institutions. With our support, the B7 has identified four strategic priorities, captured in the claim “Leading the Transitions Together”: global value chains; climate, energy and environmental transitions; the data economy and digital technologies; and the labor market. To these is added an additional priority of cross-cutting significance related to the rapid development of artificial intelligence, the centrality of which was also indicated by the Italian government for the purposes of the G7's work. These priorities are framed in the geopolitical and economic context in which the G7 industry operates.

Our Deloitte B7 delegation - led by Andrea Poggi and composed of Alessandro De Luca, Angelo Era, Francesco Iervolino, Riccardo Motta, Luigi Onorato and Stefano Pareglio - supported Confindustria and counterpart Business Associations from other member countries in the drafting of the B7 Final Declaration, delivered to the Italian G7 Presidency as part of the B7 Summit on May 17th. As a Knowledge Partner, our network had the extraordinary opportunity to take a leading role in shaping G7 priorities, leveraging our distinctive knowledge, experience and multidisciplinary approach and to interact with key representatives of Governments, Institutions and global Business Communities at official national and international events (e.g., B7 Summit, selected G7 Ministerials).
