John McCarroll

John is a partner in the Financial Services Group in Dublin and has over 20 years’ experience in financial services audit and advisory work in Ireland and internationally. His recent experience includes lead audit partner on a local Pillar Bank as well as a number of Irish based asset management and private equity companies as well as IFSC based banks.   John is the head of technical accounting for Deloitte Ireland and leads IFRS 9 advisory services for Deloitte Ireland. He specialises in financial instrument valuation, treasury and credit risk. He has worked with large Irish and European companies and banks. This includes work performed on accounting advisory, credit, impairment, restructuring, capital, financial instruments valuation, benchmarking, process and control reviews.

Oliver Holt

Oliver Holt, Director of Financial Reporting Services, Ireland Involved in an accounting technical role since 1994, joining Deloitte in 2007. Responsibilities include GAAP (IFRS and Irish/UK) interpretations, accounting technical support and practical application of GAAP in Deloitte Ireland including for both on-going IFRS reporters and reporters converting to IFRS for the first time. Also has a lead role in the professional development and updating of clients.

Harry Goddard

Harry Goddard became CEO of Deloitte Ireland in June 2019. Prior to that he had been Head of Consulting since 2015. Harry has worked in the professional services and consulting industries for more than 20 years. He has a vast breadth of experience, working across multiple industries, with a particular focus on the public sector and financial services sectors. Harry’s client service experience is largely focused on leading significant technology rich transformation programmes at national public sector and retail financial services clients. His background is in technology, and in particular in the area of systems integration. In addition to leading more than more than 750 professionals in the Consulting practice in Ireland, Harry also led Deloitte’s technology practice across the EMEA region, which spans more than 25 countries and includes more than 8,000 technology consultants. Through these teams, Deloitte delivers technology advisory, implementation, and application management services across the full spectrum of business sectors and market-leading technology platforms – including cognitive, analytics, robotics, cloud, internet of things and blockchain - helping clients transform their businesses in the digital era. Harry joined Deloitte Ireland as a partner in 2007. Prior to becoming Head of Consulting, Harry held the positions of Head of Technology Consulting, Technology Integration, and Public Sector at Deloitte Ireland.

Jamie Schmidt

While a New Zealander by birth Jamie has spent time working in the US, UK and Switzerland over his 27 years with the firm before arriving in Ireland in 2018. He is a licenced audit expert in Switzerland and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland and New Zealand. Jamie leads the Complex Accountancy Group in Ireland. In addition to his auditor duties Jamie has worked in regulatory economics, transaction services, audit advisory and finance transformations. This diverse experience has provided Jamie with a great understanding of how a company operate and what can make the difference. Jamie is the Head of Life Sciences & Health Care at Deloitte Ireland and serves on the Executive Committee of the firm.

Hollie Keating

Hollie is the Sustainability Reporting and Assurance lead for Deloitte Ireland. She currently works to help clients stay ahead of the latest Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) developments and reporting requirements across all industries. Since joining Deloitte in 2012, Hollie has worked on a number of large audit and assurance engagements in the financial services sector, primarily within investment management. Her client experience includes both UCITS and non-UCITS (AIFM) products, across multiple jurisdictions. Hollie has also spent time working within financial advisory on large capital market transactions in the banking industry. Hollie has an MSc in Financial Economics and is a is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ACA).

Michelle Byrne

Michelle is a partner in Audit & Assurance leading our Financial Reporting Advisory team. She currently advises clients on key accounting matters and has significant experience managing specialist advisory projects under IFRS, Irish GAAP and U.S. GAAP. She supports clients to stay ahead of financial reporting requirements and challenges faced by businesses today. Recently, these financial reporting challenges have arisen due to: The increased complexity in financial reporting standards (including IFRS-IC/IASB updates);  The increased focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (“ESG “) and the related impact on financial reporting; and  The financial reporting and wider challenges due to acquisitions, mergers or divestitures. Michelle serves a broad range of clients, both multi-nationals and Irish indigenous in the technology, telecommunications, and consumer business sectors. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Accounting from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
