Achieving the Silver Badge from EcoVadis with a total score of 71 out of 100 is testament to the commitment Deloitte has made to our sustainability responsibilities as an organisation and beyond, as Project Lead Caítlín Flanagan explains: “EcoVadis is the gold standard internationally recognised ESG accreditation and it measures an organisation across four different pillars. It is a collaborative platform, which allows companies to assess their own environmental and social performance — as well as those of their suppliers.”
“Companies are assessed based on evidence that they adhere to policies, reporting and wider transparency across four pillars of Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. It’s very much evidence-based and there’s a huge onus to prove that we, as a company, are doing what we claim in terms of meeting or exceeding our sustainability commitments.”
EcoVadis is not an absolute standard. Rather, it is based on the overall score of all your peers, so the more companies who come on board, the higher the standard will become.
“Based on our EcoVadis score, we have a greater ability to embed those results into our own strategic initiatives, making sure that we are following best practice. It gives us a road map as well for ensuring that we're performing at the highest levels that we can achieve as well as a clearly defined pathway for how we can make improvements across the four pillars. We recognise there are improvements to be made but welcome the insights that this accreditation gives us as well as how it supports our ability to be more transparent with our clients.”
