Deloitte Switzerland is pleased to announce that Bastien Girod will be joining as a partner, bringing his sustainability expertise to the firm. With his deep technical, regulatory, and practical knowledge, Girod will significantly enhance Deloitte's auditing and consulting services, supporting clients in key aspects of sustainability transformation.
Deloitte Switzerland has appointed Dr. Bastien Girod, an environmental scientist from ETH Zurich and EMBA University of Zurich, as a partner for Deloitte's Climate & Sustainability services. He will start in his new role in the beginning of April. Bastien Girod has broad expertise in scientific, economic, technical, political, and regulatory issues related to the sustainable development of companies and organisations.
In addition to his role as a member of the National Parliament since 2007, Bastien Girod has worked for the past six years at South Pole, a company operating internationally in the field of emission reduction. As Head of their Climate Solutions, he led the consulting area for the development and implementation of concrete climate protection solutions in Europe and managed several regional teams. As president of the Swiss Waste Recovery Plant Operators Association (VBSA), he is responsible for developing solutions for a clean energy transition. Furthermore, following his dissertation at ETH Zurich, Bastien Girod worked as a scientist researching clean technologies and supervised doctoral and master's students. Since 2019, he has lectured at ETH Zurich on "Accelerating Net-Zero Transitions: Technology, Firms, and Policy".
