Deloitte Canada welcomes former President and CEO of the Public Policy Forum Edward Greenspon as Executive Advisor

Toronto, January 30, 2025 – Deloitte Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Edward Greenspon as an Executive Advisor. Based in Toronto, Mr. Greenspon will also serve as co-chair of Deloitte’s Future of Canada Centre (FCC) advisory committee starting March 3, 2025.

“Ed is a highly esteemed leader known for his critical thinking and strategic mindset, with a significant influence that extends beyond the business community in Canada. He brings over to Deloitte more than 30 years of extensive experience at the intersection of journalism and public policy,” says Anthony Viel, Chief Executive Officer, Deloitte Canada. “With his unique and valuable perspective, Ed will provide thought-leadership and advice as we help navigate and solve the most critical issues affecting the future of Canada, Canadians and our clients, helping to propel our country into a new era of growth and competitiveness. Mr. Greenspon’s background includes more than 30 years of journalistic work at the heart of public policy. Before serving as President and CEO of the Public Policy Forum from 2016 to 2025, he was a journalist with The Globe and Mail, specializing in politics, economics, foreign affairs, and business while serving as Editor-in-Chief, Ottawa bureau chief, European correspondent and managing editor of the Report on Business. He is a proven innovator, demonstrated by his leadership in transitioning The Globe into digital as the founding editor of globeandmail.com. Mr. Greenspon later worked at Bloomberg News as Editor-at-Large for Canada and global managing editor for energy, environment and commodities, leading a group situated in 22 countries on six continents. He is also the author of two books on Canadian politics, policy, and public opinion.

Mr. Greenspon holds a combined honours degree in journalism and political science from Carleton University and was a Commonwealth Scholar at the London School of Economics, earning an M.Sc. (Econ.) with distinction.
